What we do

A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth. Veneers can change color, shape, length and small gaps all at once, which is why they're used for smile makeovers. They're for people with healthy teeth who want a bigger change than whitening or bonding can give.

What veneers can fix

  • Stains that whitening won't lift
  • Chipped or worn edges
  • Small gaps
  • Teeth that are uneven, too short, or oddly shaped

How it works

At the first visit, we plan the shape and shade with you, then remove a thin layer of enamel from the front of each tooth so the veneer sits naturally. We take a digital scan instead of a putty impression, and you leave with temporaries. The lab crafts your veneers, which usually takes about two weeks. At the second visit we check the fit and color, then bond them in place.

Worth knowing before you decide

Because a little enamel is removed, veneers are a permanent choice. They resist stains well but can chip, so if you grind your teeth, a night guard protects them. With good care, porcelain veneers can last well over a decade. If you'd like a smaller first step, bonding or whitening might get you most of the way, and we'll tell you honestly if so.

Questions

About veneers

Do veneers ruin your teeth?
Veneers do require removing a thin layer of enamel, so it's a permanent decision. The tooth underneath stays healthy as long as you keep brushing, flossing and coming in for checkups.
How many veneers do I need?
It depends on how many teeth show when you smile and what you want to change. Some people do one or two, others do the front six to ten. We'll show you what each approach would look like.
Does insurance cover veneers?
Usually not, since they're considered cosmetic. We'll give you the full price in writing and financing options.
