Technology

Equipment that lets you see what we see.

Good equipment matters for one reason: it helps us find problems earlier, plan treatment more precisely, and show you exactly what we're talking about. Here's what each piece does for you.

01 Technology

i-CAT 3D cone beam imaging

The scanner turns around your head once and captures hundreds of images, which the software assembles into a 3D model of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, sinuses and soft tissue.

What it means for you

  • Implants are planned before surgery day: the size, angle and position are chosen with the nerve and bone in full view.
  • Wisdom teeth and difficult extractions are mapped ahead of time, which can shorten the procedure and recovery.
  • Failing implants and hidden problems can be seen in three dimensions instead of guessed at from a flat image.

02 Technology

Digital x-rays

A small sensor replaces film. The image appears on a screen in seconds, sharp enough to zoom in on a single tooth.

What it means for you

  • Much less radiation than traditional film x-rays.
  • You see the image with us, on the screen, while we explain it.
  • Used at new patient visits and for emergencies, so decisions are based on what's actually there.

03 Technology

Intraoral cameras

A camera about the size of a pen that takes close-up photos inside your mouth and shows them on the screen in real time.

What it means for you

  • You see the same crack, worn filling or inflamed gum the dentist sees.
  • It makes it easier to ask questions and decide, instead of taking our word for it.
  • Photos help us track small problems over time.

04 Technology

Digital impressions

A handheld scanning wand records your teeth and turns them into a 3D model on a nearby screen. No trays of impression putty.

What it means for you

  • No gagging on impression material.
  • A precise model for the lab, which helps crowns, veneers, night guards and aligners fit well.
  • You can see the scan, and for Invisalign, a preview of how your teeth are planned to move.

None of it replaces a conversation. The images are there so the conversation is about something you can both see.
